DAY 1: ARRIVAL DAY

Pick up point shall be at Nairobi Kencom stage opposite International Life House by a representative from Royal Star Expeditions in a group sharing open roof top Land Cruiser. Your journey shall begin at 7:00 AM with a scenic drive from Nairobi to Lake Nakuru National Park, located about 2.5 to 3 hours away. As you leave the bustling city behind, you shall pass through the stunning Great Rift Valley, enjoying panoramic views of the escarpment and the expansive landscape below.

Upon arrival in Lake Nakuru, you shall head to check-in at Sarova Lion Hill Game Lodge and enjoy your leisurely lunch. You shall have a chance to freshen up before your first afternoon game drive. The park is famous for its diverse wildlife, including flamingos, rhinos, and various species of antelope. Your guide will take you on a game drive, where you will have the opportunity to spot a variety of animals and take in the park’s unique scenery, including the breathtaking Lake Nakuru itself.

As the evening draws to a close, return to your lodge with hearts full of wonder and adventure. Reflect on the evening’s encounter over a delicious dinner, swapping stories and sharing laughter under the vast African sky. DAY 2: FULL DAY GAME DRIVE IN LAKE NAKURU NATIONAL PARK

On the second day of your safari, you will have a full-day game drive in a safari vehicle. This means you will only return at sunset after enjoying all the views of the game park. You shall wake up early by 7:00 AM to savor a hearty breakfast, without wasting time you shall embark on your full day game drive. Get ready for an unforgettable safari adventure as you delve into the heart of Nakuru and discover its untamed beauty.

So much so like the evening game drives, morning game drives are an overflow of wildlife, birds and unique ambiences. Sunrise mainly makes this one a little more memorable. Your exclusive open roof top land cruiser traverses the breathtaking panorama, exposing you to varieties of wildlife and beautiful vegetation. You will get to learn so much more from our guide.

Morning game drive offers a captivating opportunity to witness the African wilderness come alive with the dawn of a new day. Animals are often more active making it ideal time for wildlife viewing. Be on the lookout for predators on the move as well as catch glimpses of diurnal species before they seek shade during the heat of the day.

The soft morning light casts a golden glow over the landscapes, enhancing the beauty of scenery providing an excellent light for photography. It is magical time to capture images of actively moving wildlife.

Your game drive will be led by an experienced guide who will not only point out wildlife but also engage you in the process. Learn about animal behavior, habitats and conservation efforts while actively participating in spotting wildlife. Feel free to ask your guide to stop for you to take better photos or a video of something interesting.

By 1:00 PM, your guide will assist in finding the perfect spot for your picnic lunch, whether it’s under the shade of a towering acacia tree or overlooking a scenic vista.
Spread out your picnic blankets and unpack your delicious lunch, enjoying a leisurely meal in the heart of nature. Take your time savoring each bite as you soak in the tranquility of your surroundings, with only the sounds of the wilderness as your sound track

One of the most exciting parts of the safari is having a picnic lunch in the middle of the savannah. It also makes time for some very Instagram-worthy photos, so take every chance you can to immortalize your safari. After lunch, you will embark on the second part of your safari. Your driver guide will take you to a different part of the vast park, giving you a chance to experience everything that Lake Nakuru has to offer.

As the day starts to cool, embark on an afternoon game drive to catch the glimpse of nocturnal animals and predators on the hunt. Keep your cameras ready for amazing photo opportunities against the backdrop of grand vegetation and skyline ensuring that you return with incredible photos to cherish forever.

The journey will take you to Makalia Falls, a stunning waterfall within Lake Nakuru National Park. The falls offer picturesque views and provide a great photo opportunity amidst the park’s lush landscapes. Continue your exploration, stopping to admire the incredible wildlife and birdlife, including the famous flamingos and a variety of other birds that call the lake home.

Later head back to the lodge for evening relaxation. You can choose to unwind at the Wellness Spa, enjoying massages, facials, or relaxation therapies designed to refresh and rejuvenate. The serene surroundings of the park make it the perfect setting for a tranquil spa experience. (At an extra cost)

DAY 3: DEPARTURE

This is the last day of your Lake Nakuru trip. Arise and shine for a leisurely lazy breakfast at 8:30 AM then proceed to check out at 9:00 AM. You shall depart Lake Nakuru and embark on your transformative journey back to Nairobi.

Upon arrival your assigned professional safari guide from Royal Star Expeditions will drop you off in your initial pick up location. This will then mark the end of your safari. He will proceed to bid a fond goodbye.
