Ol Pejeta Conservancy is situated between the foot hills of the Aberdares and the magnificent snow-capped peaks of Mount Kenya. It is the largest black rhino sanctuary in East Africa and a home to two of the world’s last remaining northern white rhinos. It is the only place in Kenya to see chimpanzees in a sanctuary established to rehabilitate animals rescued from the black market. It has some of the highest predator densities in Kenya and still manages a very successful livestock programme. Ol Pejeta also seeks to support the people living around its borders, to ensure wildlife conservation translates to better education, healthcare and infrastructure for the next generation.

Tour Plan
DAY 1: ARRIVAL
You shall be picked up from Kencom Stage opposite International Life House at 6:00 AM by a representative from Tours Kenya Adventures. After a quick meet and greet, your journey to Ol Pejeta Conservancy shall begin. Your drive will cover around 220 kilometers hence it will take approximately three and half hours to four hours to arrive at your destination.
Upon arrival in Nanyuki you shall have a stopover at the equator crossing. Equator is an imaginary line that divides the earth into 2 hemispheres. There is a big signage indicating the equator point and if time allows you will have an opportunity to take interesting photos and experience the sensation of being at a geographical milestone.
From there you shall embark on another short drive to Ol Pejeta Conservancy. Upon arrival
you shall proceed to check-in at Comfort Gardens Sweet Waters located on the plain of Mount
Kenya, right at the Ol Pejeta Conservancy’s entrance-Rongai gate. The ambience at Comfort Gardens will inspire you to engage in activities that require a tranquil setting. This exclusive establishment offers personalized accommodations and services in a comfortable and welcoming setting, with a distinct character and charm.
All rooms are elegantly furnished and serviced, with a spacious lounge and balcony
overlooking the Ol Pejeta conservancy. The rooms feature a complimentary tea and coffee making facilities, and a free Wi-Fi onsite.

Later in the afternoon by 3:30 PM, you shall set out on your first safari drive in search of some amazing animals. This will be a very exciting time for you and you may find something very special. Evening game drives are a classic reminder of the beauty Ol Pejeta Conservancy holds.
As the evening draws to a close, by 6:00 PM, return to your accommodation with hearts full of wonder and adventure. Reflect on the evening’s encounter over a delicious dinner, swapping stories and sharing laughter under the vast African sky. DAY 2: FULL DAY GAME DRIVE IN OL PEJETA CONSERVANCY WITH PICNIC LUNCH
Rise and shine by 7:00 AM to a panoramic view and a delicious breakfast offering an array of freshly blended juices, baked pastries, tantalizing fruits and a selection of continental and local specialties. After breakfast you shall embark on an exhilarating Full day game drive in Ol Pejeta Conservancy. Breathe in the crisp, fresh air and take in the stunning scenery surrounding you. Your adventure now begins!
Spend the day exploring Ol Pejeta Conservancy. The conservancy has a great number of wildlife including all the big five animals (elephants, rhinos, lions, cheetahs and buffaloes) amongst others. This morning game drive is the most rewarding since you will find most animals very active and fresh looking for food of the day in open savannah grassland.
Get personal with Ol Pejeta inhabitants as you encounter wildlife in their natural habitat. Marvel at the site of giraffes gracefully browsing treetops and herds of antelopes and zebras grazing on plains. Your guide will share fascinating facts and anecdotes about each species you encounter, enhancing your understanding and appreciation of Kenya’s rich biodiversity.
Keep an eye out for elephants and other iconic species. Be ready to explore the vast savanna and woodlands in search of wildlife.
You will proceed to the enclosure of the last two remaining northern white rhinos, Najin and Fatu. It will be a great opportunity to learn about the conservation efforts being made to save this critically endangered species from extinction.
One of the highlights of your game drive will be the chance to interact with Baraka, the blind rhino. Witness his resilience as he roams the savannah, guided by his acute sense of smell and sound. You’ll also have the opportunity to feed him and learn about his story from the knowledgeable guide.
Your guide will assist in finding the perfect spot for your picnic lunch, whether it’s under the
shade of a towering acacia tree or overlooking a scenic vista.
Spread out your picnic blankets and unpack your delicious lunch, enjoying a leisurely meal in
the heart of nature. Take your time savoring each bite as you soak in the tranquility of your
surroundings, with only the sounds of the wilderness as your sound track.
A Visit To Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary, A Haven For Rescued chimpanzees.
After lunch you shall visit Chimpanzee Sanctuary. A visit to the Chimpanzee Sanctuary is a must-do activity. These intelligent primates will amaze you with their playful antics and social interactions. The sanctuary is home to over 40 chimpanzees, rescued from the illegal wildlife trade and other human-wildlife conflicts. It will be fun observing chimpanzees in their natural habitat and you will gain insights into their behavior and social dynamics.
Finally you shall sum up your day by visiting rhino cemetery where Sudan, the last male northern white rhino, was laid to rest. This is a somber reminder of the challenges we face in protecting endangered species and the importance of conservation efforts.
