The sight of dust-red elephant wallowing, rolling and spraying each other with the midnight blue waters of palm-shaded Galana River is one of the most evocative images in Africa. This, along with the 300 kilometer long Yatta Plateau, the longest lava flow in the world, make for an adventure unlike any other in the Tsavo East. The park forms the largest protected area in Kenya and is home to most of the larger mammals, vast herds of dust –red elephant, rhino, buffalo, lion, leopard, pods of hippo, crocodile, waterbucks, lesser Kudu, gerenuk and the prolific bird life features 500 recorded species.

Tour Plan

DAY1: ARRIVAL

You shall be picked up at 6:30 AM from Nairobi Kencom stage opposite International Life House by our representative in a group sharing open roof top Land cruiser. After a quick meet and greet, our representative will load your luggage into our comfortable open roof top Land cruiser and waste no time in departing to one of Kenya’s most beautiful and scenic national park, Tsavo East National Park. Your drive will cover around 280 kilometers hence it will take approximately five and a half to six hours to arrive at your destination.

Upon arrival, you will drive to Voi Wildlife Lodge, where you will check-in and have your leisurely lunch. Nestled in the heart of elephant country, Voi Wildlife Lodge is located in the Savannah grasslands of Tsavo East, Kenya, just 5km off the main highway connecting the Capital Nairobi to Mombasa. Officially opened in 2003, the lodge is situated on a 50-acre site on the boundary of Tsavo East National Park.

Accommodating up to 150 guests, all rooms have spacious en-suite bathrooms and are furnished in African decor that is replicated throughout the lodge. The luxury rooms comprise two four-poster beds and views of the Savannah, which one can enjoy from the comfort of one’s balcony or terrace. By 3:30 PM, a thrilling afternoon game drive awaits. This afternoon safari shall provide theopportunity to explore different areas of Tsavo East, potentially spotting rare wildlife such as leopards or elusive cheetahs. The park’s unique landscapes, from rolling hills to vast plains and rocky outcrops, offer plenty of photographic opportunities. Later in the evening by 6:00 PM, head back to the lodge as the sun sets. You can enjoy an evening of relaxation, with dinner served in the lodge’s restaurant. Relax, rejuvenate and prepare for the next day.

DAY2

Rise and shine by 7:00 AM to a panoramic view and a delicious breakfast offering an array of freshly blended juices, baked pastries, tantalizing fruits and a selection of continental and local specialties.

Without wasting time you shall embark on your full day game drive. Another morning of exploring Tsavo East National Park. So much so like the evening game drives, morning game drives are an overflow of wildlife, birds and unique ambiences. Sunrise mainly makes this one a little more memorable. Your exclusive open roof top vehicle traverses the breathtaking panorama, exposing you to varieties of wildlife and beautiful vegetation.

The day promises a chance to explore the park’s diverse landscapes, from vast savannahs to dense scrubland, all teeming with wildlife. You will have the opportunity to see the park’s famous red elephants, lions, giraffes, and possibly elusive predators like cheetahs and leopards.

As the golden sun bathes the savanna, keep your majestic eyes peeled for sightings of majestic wildlife such as giraffes, zebras, buffaloes and many more wildlife. Capture breathtaking moments on camera as you traverse the untamed park immersing yourself in the beauty of diverse flora and fauna.

The morning game drive typically lasts 4 to 5 hours, allowing ample time for wildlife sightings.
After capturing stunning photos against the backdrops of savanna your driver shall take you to a perfect picnic spot for you to enjoy your picnic lunch within the park. This will allow you to soak in the natural beauty around the environment. This leisurely break amidst the wildlife provides a unique opportunity to enjoy the African wilderness up close.

In the afternoon, the temperatures tend to cool slightly, which makes it more comfortable for both the wildlife and the guests. This is also a prime time to spot animals as they become more active after the midday heat. The afternoon game drive offers a mix of sightings, such as herds of elephants, giraffes, and buffaloes grazing in the open plains, while predators like lions and cheetahs might be spotted resting in the shade.

The park’s landscape, with its rolling hills, acacia trees, and waterholes, creates an ideal backdrop for wildlife photography, offering plenty of opportunities to capture unique moments. In the evening by 4:00 PM, head back to your lodge, exhilarated by the day’s discoveries and ready to rest. Later you shall delight in a themed dinner experience immersing yourself in rich culture and flavors of Africa.

DAY3: DEPARTURE

On the final day of the safari, you shall be up for your early morning breakfast by 8:00 AM.
Afterward, return to the lodge to check out by 9:00 AM. You shall leave Tsavo East and embark on your transformative journey back to Nairobi.
Carrying with you cherished memories of adventure and relaxation. Reflect on the wonders you’ve experienced and the bonds you have formed during this short but extra ordinary adventure.
